HOTSAND TIMEOUT COVID-19 RESOURCE:
HOTSAND USA is calling a timeout - suspending 2020 beach operations temporarily due to the national emergency, the COVID-19 global pandemic & in-line with other sports leagues & organizations. HOTSAND USA will continue to actively work in our local Santa Cruz community volunteering & donating to help those directly affected by the coronavirus.
UPDATE: There continues to be event cancellations at the amateur, pro and international beach volleyball levels due to COVID-19. The health and well-being of our beach volleyball community is everyone's first priority.
As of June 8, 2020 - Santa Cruz county has relaxed the social distancing measures allowing beach activities. People are back on the beach! With no formal beach volleyball tournaments scheduled until August 1, 2020 (registration is not open and will be on a to be announced (TBA) basis), the county has replaced 8 courts at Main Beach and 2 courts at Harbor Beach, for public use. However, there remains an active "Shelter-in-Place" order in effect until July 1, 2020. Which means the beach is closed between the hours of 11:00 am - 5:00 pm daily. It has also been recommended that the public and athletes only participate in beach activities with members of their own family - while continuing to practice social distancing, proper hygiene and wearing a mask. HOTSAND USA will not be hosting events in 2020. We will however be updating our beach schedule and athletes blog to reflect any changes in tournament status. Check us on all social media platforms at: @hotsandusa for all things Santa Cruz beach volleyball.
NOTE: HOTSAND USA will continue to support all club teams that have engaged with us for 2020 gear. 2020 club gear will be purchased & shipped through our website, on this SHOP page (additional links to be provided to your coach). Contact us via our SHOUT OUT page if you have questions or would like to place an order for your club team. It’s possible some items may be delayed…stay tuned and thanks for your patience.
